The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi decided to extend the exemption from tourism fees and municipality fees on hotel establishments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi until June 30th.
The department indicated that the exemption of hotel establishments from the tourist fee and the municipality fee has been extended, and the municipality fee for rooms has been extended.
She emphasized the need for hotel establishments to commit to declaring their monthly revenues in the first 5 working days of the next month, to provide financial statements supporting them, and to cooperate with the revenue auditors or those charged by the department to verify the validity of declarations and fees that were paid for the previous periods.
The department stated that the application of the exemption from fees will start from January 1, 2021, until June 30, 2021.
The department indicated that in the event that any of the aforementioned fees are collected from customers after January 1, 2021 and up to the date of this circular, and the hotel establishment pays these fees to the department, the department will return them to the facility on the condition that there are no dues from the hotel facility before January 1, 2021.
