Europe plans to become the leader in the production of vaccines against coronavirus infection COVID-19 by summer. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron at a press conference following the EU online summit.
“Europe will by summer become the continent that produces the largest number of vaccines against coronavirus,” – quoted by TASS Macron.
According to him, there was a lag in the campaign to vaccinate the population in the EU, but “now it has been able to catch up.”
“The EU will be able to produce enough doses to ensure its collective immunity,” the French leader added.

He stressed that Europe is the only continent that “has its own strategy and diplomacy in the field of vaccines.”
Earlier it was reported that the European Commission is still unable to achieve the goal of ensuring timely access to vaccines against coronavirus for EU citizens.
