07h20 : A new (sad) record in Brazil. For the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Brazil yesterday recorded more than 100,000 new cases of contamination in 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health. In total, 12.3 million Brazilians have been infected with Covid-19, and more than 300,000 people have died from the disease in the country.

06h40 : @A depressed Lyonnaise : you can travel simply with proof of address between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. within a radius of less than 10 kilometers. A certificate will be required for travel between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., or for any journey more than 10 kilometers from your home.

06h36 : Hello @A depressed Lyonnaise (and courage!). As for the 16 departments already concerned, measures “strong braking” now apply in the Rhône, Aube and Nièvre. Interregional travel is prohibited, except in cases of compelling personal or professional reasons. Only shops “who sell basic goods and services “ remain open, and high schools switch to half-gauge.

06h36 : Hello, can you please remind us of the new restrictions that apply in the Rhône from this evening?

06h12 : Mexico yesterday crossed the threshold of 200,000 deaths from Covid-19, said the Mexican Secretariat of Health. The number of contaminations exceeds 2.2 million for 126 million inhabitants.

06h07 : 6 hours and a few minutes, here is a first point on the news:

No “MEA culpa” for the head of state. Emmanuel Macron felt he had “was right not to reconfine France” at the end of January, defending the “pragmatism” and a response tailored to the situation. However, the president did not rule out “new measures” in the next weeks.

Nièvre, Rhône and Aube join the 16 departments already affected by the new health restrictions. These “strong braking measures” will come into force overnight for the three departments in question.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said AstraZeneca “will have to catch up first” and honor its contract with the EU, before being able to export its doses. The laboratory delivered only 30 of the 120 million doses promised to the EU in the 1st quarter.
