Today the teams are set against each other and in the event of a victory or a draw, Häcken will advance to the semifinals.
Yesterday the squad was released and then a name stood out a little extra: Elin Rubensson. She thus makes a comeback after a long absence due to a concussion and pregnancy.
– I calculated that it is 545 days since I played a competitive match, she says to the team’s website.
– It has been hard to sit on the side, but now it feels great. It’s been a long time since you played, so it’s a special feeling.
“An unreasonable demand with the Olympics”
The last time Rubensson played a competitive match was on September 29, 2019 against Vittsjö.
– There is a good distance left to the top form, but I feel that it gets better and better with each training. At the same time, I have to remind myself that I have been away from games for very many months and that it takes time to come back, she says.
Right now Rubensson is focusing on the club team, but this summer an Olympics is also looming in Tokyo with the national team.
– If I were to join there, it would have been great, but I also know that it is too unreasonable to make demands on myself. It would not have been nice for myself to have that pressure, she says.
