Egypt to play 25th African Cup of Nations

                The Egypt team will play its 25th African Cup of Nations, on the occasion of CAN 2021 in Cameroon.  The Egyptians secured one of the top two places in Group G, alongside the Comoros, after a 1-1 draw in Kenya on March 25, 2021.

                                    <p><span><span><span>The Ivory Coast and Ghana teams will have to wait a bit longer to hope to equal Egypt's record for participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.  The Egyptians brought their total to 25 final stages (out of 33) on March 25, 2021. The Pharaohs have indeed secured their place in the " <strong>CAN 2021</strong> »<em> [1] </em>in Egypt, this Thursday in Nairobi.</span></span></span>

They only needed a draw in Kenya to be sure of finishing first or second in Group G. They won it thanks to an early goal from Mohamed Magdy (2nd). The Kenyans equalized in the 65th minute by Abdallah Hassan. However, insufficient for the Harambee Stars who are now out of the race, like the Togolese.

Mohamed Salah and his gang will now try to secure the supremacy of group G, on March 29 against to the Coelacanths of the Comoros.

[1] The African Football Confederation (CAF) has decided that the competition will continue to be called CAN 2021, despite its postponement to 2022.
