Dubai Customs has decided to exempt free zone companies from service fees for requests to recover customs insurances whose value does not exceed 3000 dirhams, for the customs data that are represented in: a statement of crossing the exit of the free zone, and a statement of transit between free zones in the emirate of Dubai.
Dubai Customs clarified that its step is aimed at simplifying and facilitating customs procedures, establishing an appropriate environment in free zones, to attract investments, stimulate e-commerce, and reduce business costs.
In a customs declaration issued by it, “Emirates Today” obtained a copy of it, she added that free zone companies must submit requests to recover customs insurances through the available electronic channels, according to the customs controls and procedures followed, noting that this announcement will be effective from April 1, 2021. Until further notice, everything that contradicts with its provisions shall be canceled, calling on the concerned departments to take the necessary measures to fully implement it, each in their own right.
