Honored swimming coach of the USSR Boris Zenov died at the age of 82.
In recent years, the specialist underwent two coronary artery bypass grafting operations, after which he received a cardiac pacemaker. Despite this, he provided active consulting assistance to the national teams of different countries. The cause of death was a combination of health problems: in addition to heart problems, the trainer was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver.
Zenov is considered one of the founders of the modern breaststroke. In addition, among his students were Olympic champions and Olympic medalists Marina Koshevaya, Lina Kachushite, Robertas Zhulpa, Marina Yurchenya, Lyubov Rusanova, Svetlana Varganova, Arsen Miskarov, Dmitry Volkov.
In 1989, the coach went to work under a contract in Austria.
