Crying Lang suffers a knee injury at the Dutch Juniors: ‘Doesn’t look good’ | NOW

Noa Lang sustained an apparently annoying knee injury on Saturday-evening in the European Championship match between the Dutch Juniors against Young Germany (1-1). The attacker of Club Brugge had to let himself be changed after twenty minutes, crying.

21-year-old Lang was injured in an unfortunate collision with teammate Teun Koopmeiners. He came back into the field after a short treatment, but a few minutes later the former Ajax player was still stretched out on the ground with his hands over his eyes.

Long could not hold back his tears when he left the field. The attacker was replaced by Ferdi Kadioglu. It is not yet clear how serious Lang’s injury is, but it does not appear that he will be able to play in the last group match of the Dutch Juniors against Young Hungary on Tuesday.

“It doesn’t look so good, we have to see what is going on on Sunday,” said national coach Erwin van de Looi after the game against the US. “Noa now has a thick knee and is wearing a brace. I don’t think he has stepped on or twisted the knee, so I really hope it won’t be that bad.”

Lang’s withdrawal is a damper for Jong Oranje, but possibly also for Club Brugge. The born South Hollander is of great value to the Belgian top club this season with twelve league hits and seven assists.

The Juniors have to do without Koopmeiners on Tuesday against the peers of Hungary. The captain received a yellow card in the 37th minute – his second of the tournament – and is suspended. Van de Looi’s team must beat Hungary to reach the quarter-finals.
