Former UFC two-weight champion Daniel Cormier revealed what former UFC lightweight title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov was like when he first started training in the USA at the AKA gym.
“I remember when he first came to AKA, he had a simple phone and hardly spoke English. And he kept turning it on to me as Bruce Buffer introduces him on his UFC debut. And he shouted: “Dagestan Eagle!” Because he used to have that nickname, ”Cormier said on the UFC Fight Pass.
Nurmagomedov has 29 victories and not a single defeat in MMA. After his fight with Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, which took place on October 24, 2020, he announced his retirement and was dropped from all UFC rankings in March 2021.
Earlier Nurmagomedov named Islam Makhachev as the next best lightweight in the UFC.
