Russian Haas F1 Team racer Nikita Mazepin commented on his performances in qualifying for the first Formula 1 stage of the season – the Bahrain Grand Prix.
“The qualification conditions were very difficult, they changed a lot compared to the third practice. Obviously, the temperature has dropped, the wind has changed direction, and the wind affects these fireballs very strongly. I had a problem with the brake-by-wire system and blocked the rear wheels in the first corner. The pedal just had a very long stroke, we need to study that. This I did not expect, this has not happened before on tests here or in training. I hope this does not happen tomorrow. There is something to study, but we always expected that it would be difficult in qualification, ”the Haas press service quotes Mazepin as saying.
According to the results of qualification, Mazepin took the last, 20th place.
Earlier it was reported that Verstappen won the Bahrain Grand Prix qualification.
