“I don’t think that even a week has passed during my presidency when I didn’t answer questions about Russia and our sport. I am extremely grateful to the ad hoc working group, its experts and ARAF for creating a detailed roadmap for restoring trust. This is not the end, but the beginning of a long road in which ARAF will have to do an incredible job of rebuilding trust, ”the World Athletics press office quoted Coe as saying.

He noted that the team that is now working in ARAF will be able to fulfill the assigned tasks.

“The working group, drawing on the advice of international experts, will monitor progress and report to the board,” Coe added.

ARAF membership in World Athletics has been suspended since the end of 2016. Currently, due to the sanctions imposed on the ARAF, Russian athletes cannot participate in international competitions under their own flag, and the issuance of temporary permits to participate in competitions under a neutral flag has also been suspended.

Earlier it was reported that World Athletics approved a plan to restore ARAF in rights.
