Biden announces goal of 200 million injections in first 100 days

United States President Joe Biden said on Thursday that 200 million injections of the Covid-19 vaccine would be given during his first 100 days in the White House, during his first press conference. “I believe we can do it,” said the Democratic president.

US President Joe Biden on Thursday set a target of 200 million injections of the Covid-19 vaccine in his first 100 days in the White House. “We will have carried out 200 million injections by my hundredth day in office,” said the Democratic president in his first press conference. On March 18, he announced that the goal of 100 million vaccinations during the first 100 days of his mandate would be reached the next day, on the 58th day of his mandate.

“I believe we can do it”

“I know this is ambitious. Twice our original target. But no other country in the world has come close to what we are doing. I believe we can do it,” added Joe Biden. Thursday morning, the White House announced the implementation of a 10 billion dollar plan to correct inequalities in access to the vaccine, which particularly affects ethnic minorities.

The goal is to reach “the hardest hit and most vulnerable populations, the populations most at risk from the virus,” said Joe Biden.
