“Believes in increased demand for flexible offices”

In pandemic times, the places have been used as an alternative to working or studying from home, says Lotta Kruse, hotel director at Scandic Karlstad City and Scandic Winn.

– For a few years, we have noticed that many people use, for example, lobby areas to work, both hotel guests and local guests. Last year, we conceptualized and converted certain areas into dedicated workplaces.

Office collectives may appear in more places

Maria Frisk, business policy manager in Värmland for the industry organization Fastighetsägarna, believes that work from home will leave more people wanting to be flexible – and that it can lead to more office collectives even in smaller towns.

– In some places, there is some speculation about turning empty shop premises into common offices, to get an alternative to the home workplace but not have to travel far. It can be a way to work more locally, without commuting or moving to big cities.
