Chairman of the Belarusian state media holding Belteleradiocompany, a member of the European Broadcasting Union and organizer of the national selection project for the Eurovision song contest, Ivan Eismont commented on the decision to remove Belarus from Eurovision in 2021.
Eismont also said that EBU officially informed Belteleradiocompany about its decision, however, the essence of the claims to the new song of the representative of Belarus is not clear from the letter.
According to him, the organizers of the competition did not indicate “words, lines, couplets that are related to politics.”
Earlier, the European Broadcasting Union announced a decision not to allow Belarus to participate in Eurovision in 2021, since the new song presented by the republic does not comply with the rules of the competition.
