an apartment fire causes a serious injury in the 8th arrondissement

A fire damaged an apartment in a building in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, Sunday March 28 in the morning, causing a serious injury, transported to hospital in an emergency, and twenty people inconvenienced.

The fire started on Sunday March 28 around 8:00 a.m., for an as yet undetermined reason on the 2nd floor of a building rue Maryse Bastié in the 8th arrondissement. It was the neighbors who sounded the alarm when they spotted heavy smoke.

On site, the firefighters had to deal with the incident in a very crowded apartment which overlooks an interior courtyard that is quite difficult to access. The fire was extinguished in about half an hour. The occupant of the apartment was rescued. 17 people were inconvenienced.

But the upstairs neighbor, on the 3rd floor, jumped out the window, perhaps panicking. He was taken to hospital in a state of absolute emergency.

The firefighters are busy emptying the apartment with many charred items, to prevent any new outbreak of flames.
