The 27-year-old was placed in an artificial coma immediately after the accident. But yesterday, the medical team was slowly able to start waking up Tande again and the process has gone well.
– There has been great success in Daniel’s situation during the night. He is awake and breathing himself. The respirator was disconnected at 6 o’clock this morning and everything has gone well. The family is with him and he talks to them, says the Norwegian national team’s doctor Guri Ranum Ekås in a press release.
After the World Cup competitions ended in Planica yesterday, the other jumpers showed their support for Tande by jointly holding up a banner with the Norwegian’s name and text:
”All the best from Planica! See you soon!”.
