Two well-informed diplomats said that an investigation conducted by a team of United Nations experts concluded that Houthi militias in Yemen carried out the attack that targeted Aden airport on December 30, and that killed at least 22, upon the arrival of members of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
The two diplomats confirmed that the experts had submitted their report to the United Nations Committee that supervises sanctions related to Yemen, and the two diplomats requested that their names not be published due to the sensitivity of the matter.
The diplomats added that the United Nations Committee of Experts concluded that the Houthis fired missiles at Aden airport from two sites that were under their control at that time, namely Taiz Airport and a police station in Dhamar, and explained that the experts found that the missiles were of the type of missiles used by the Houthis in the past.
