A new positive case of Covid-19, the third in a week, was detected at the World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm, the International Skating Federation said on Friday evening, without giving details of the person’s identity contaminated.

A third positive Covid-19 case was detected at the World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm, the International Skating Federation (ISU) said on Friday evening. “As part of the rigorous testing procedures, around 2,000 PCR tests and 1,000 antigen tests have been carried out so far. Among these numerous tests, an additional positive case has been identified,” writes the ISU in a statement, without specifying the identity of the individual concerned, nor his link with the competition.

“The contact cases were quickly identified and tested. The ISU is able to confirm that the PCR tests of the contact cases have all come back negative and that the positive case has been placed in quarantine,” she said.

First two cases outside the sanitary bubble

A first positive case for Covid-19 was diagnosed on Monday, then a second on Wednesday. These first two cases concerned people who have not yet integrated the health bubble set up around the Worlds-2021, then explained the international federation. The Swedish competition, which started on Wednesday, ends on Saturday evening.
