The group of researchers, brought together by Emmanuel Macron to analyze the role of France in the genocide in Rwanda, delivered its report to the President of the Republic on Friday.

It is a historic report. In this text submitted on Friday March 26 to the President of the Republic, French researchers point to the “heavy and overwhelming responsibilities” from Paris, which s‘has been heavily involved in Rwanda since the 1990s, and “aligned” on the country’s Hutu regime, in the genocide of Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994.
The conclusions of this report, submitted to President Emmanuel Macron, and consulted by AFP, point to “the bankruptcy of France in Rwanda”, stressing however that “nothing comes to demonstrate” she surrendered “partner in crime” of the genocide which left at least 800,000 dead according to the UN.
The role of François Mitterrand, then President of the Republic, is particularly singled out. “France has invested a long time alongside a regime which encouraged racist massacres. It has remained blind to the preparation” genocide, and “This alignment with Rwandan power is the result of the will of the Head of State and the Presidency of the Republic”.
