a microcredit of 5,000 euros to boost the transition

This new microcredit scheme is intended for very modest households who do not have access to conventional loans and varies according to income. It can go up to 5,000 euros repayable over five years and aims to allow the families concerned to buy a less polluting car or two-wheeler.

The government launched a new microcredit scheme on Wednesday offering up to 5,000 euros to the poorest households to buy a less polluting car or two-wheeler. This aid concerns new or used Crit’Air 0 (electric or hybrid) or Crit’air 1 (petrol vehicle since January 1, 2011 with low CO2 emissions), and electric two-wheelers, tricycles and quadricycles, said the Ministry of Transport in a press release.

“This new device is intended for very modest households,” whose “repayment capacities are deemed sufficient” but who “do not have access to credits distributed by conventional banking networks,” said the ministry in a press release.

An amount based on household income

Announced in October 2020 with a battery of measures to electrify the automotive market, this credit is 50% guaranteed by the State. Its amount varies according to household income, up to 5,000 euros repayable over five years. Designed to “ensure the lowest possible out-of-pocket expenses”, it can be combined with the ecological bonus and conversion bonus devices (up to 12,000 euros for a new electric, with local aid in addition).

Offered by social support services such as the Red Cross or the Federation of Rural Families, this microcredit is available for a purchase but also for a long-term rental or a rental with option to purchase, formulas that have the wind in stern.
