The Egyptian Cabinet revealed the fact that there is a land subsidence around the pyramid of Khufu, which threatens the pyramid building to collapse.
The Media Center for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers said that some websites and social media pages circulated pictures claiming the existence of a land subsidence in the vicinity of the pyramid of Khufu, which threatens the pyramid building to collapse.
The center added, in a statement published on the official page of the Presidency of the Egyptian Council of Ministers on the website “Facebook” today, Friday, that it had contacted the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which denied the news, confirming that there is no truth to the existence of a land subsidence around the pyramid of Khufu, which threatens the pyramid building to collapse.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities clarified that the circulating images are false, explaining that the area of the Al-Ahram Plateau is higher than the rest of the surrounding area, and that everything that falls or happens below that area is completely away from the pyramids, and does not represent any danger to them, appealing to citizens not to be led by this false information. Which aims to damage the reputation of Egyptian antiquities, and all legal measures will be taken against the promoters of these images.
The Center appealed to all media outlets and social media users to investigate accuracy and objectivity in publishing news, and to communicate with the relevant authorities to make sure before publishing information that is not based on any facts and leads to angering citizens, and if there are any inquiries or complaints please go to the official website of the Ministry
