Murban crude futures contracts witnessed strong activity on the first day of trading on it on the Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Futures Exchange, along with the rest of the global benchmarks.
The Stock Exchange, in a tweet on Twitter, expressed its astonishment at the volume of strong activity witnessed in the futures contracts for the distinguished UAE crude “Murban”, announcing that the number of contracts concluded on Murban crude reached on the first day of trading. It has 6,344 contracts.
The price of “Murban” crude at the end of the trading session the day before yesterday, closed at the level of $ 64.07 a barrel at 6:00 pm EST.
It is noteworthy that the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the «Intercontinental Exchange» officially launched the global trading of Murban crude as futures contracts on the new Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Futures Exchange, through a high-profile global ceremony. It was held at the Abu Dhabi Global Market, in the presence of the exchange’s partners.
This step has been classified as a major achievement for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, which coincides with the country’s celebrations of its golden jubilee and its entry into the second half of its centenary.
