A violent earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck off the Algerian coast at dawn today, according to what was reported by the American Observatory specializing in monitoring albumin.
Algerian television reported that the quake occurred 28 kilometers northeast of Ras Carbon, north of the city of Bejaia, at one o’clock, Thursday morning, local time.
The strong earthquake, a warning sign at the beginning of this week, was preceded by an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, 4 days ago, in the province of Batna, in northeastern Algeria.
Activists on social media published pictures of cracks in some homes, and others also posted pictures of citizens who took to the streets frequently with anxiety, anticipation and fear of returning to homes with successive tremors.
