Public Health France recorded 228 deaths linked to the disease on Thursday, bringing the total toll to 93,405 deaths in the country since the start of the epidemic.
The number of patients with Covid-19 in intensive care continued to increase on Thursday, reaching 4,709 patients in intensive care. This number comes close to the record for the second wave, which was 4,903 on November 16. Some 408 patients entered intensive care in the last 24 hours, against 384 on Wednesday. The total number of people hospitalized in France with a positive Covid-19 diagnosis stands at 27,036, with 1,860 new admissions in 24 hours. In terms of vaccination, 7,168,437 people received at least one first injection in France, or 10.7% of the French population. Of these, 2,610,990 received a second dose of vaccine.
