4 creative people celebrate with “Abu Dhabi Art” the International Poetry Day – Our Life – Culture


The Abu Dhabi Literary and Cultural Arts Foundation Council celebrated, the day before yesterday, the World Poetry Day, with a poetry discussion symposium, which included dialogues and poems.

An elite group of poets participated in the evening, namely: Abdullah Al-Hediya, Aida bin Masoud, Iyad Al-Muraisy and Muhammad Al-Azzam, and it was moderated by Samia Badr, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Media at the Abu Dhabi Art Foundation.

The evening dealt with several axes, such as talking about the importance of poetry and what it has provided to life, civilization and history throughout the ages, the ties and relationships that govern the system of the poem, the poem of eloquent, Nabati and hadith poetry, the importance of poetry in the media and communication, passing through poetic competitions that serve poetry and the poet. At the end of the session, the poets presented a number of social and spinning poems. For his part, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abu Dhabi Art Foundation, Dr. Hamid bin Muhammad Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, said, “The poetry seminar came to support poetry, strengthen its presence as a link and bridge between different societies and civilizations, and to promote a culture of tolerance and coexistence, and push it to broad horizons that accommodate all,” And showing the role and influence of poetry so that it takes the place it deserves within our societies ».
