12 of the world’s most prominent pianists are celebrating Beethoven’s 250th birthday with new melodies inspired by his works.
The international music platform “Deezer” said, in a statement, that the musicians, most notably Shelly Gonzales, Sofiani Bamart, and Chloe Flower, have put their own touches on classical pieces by international musician Beethoven.
Each pianist performed one of Beethoven’s original compositions individually. Sofiani Bamart, one of the best classical music artists of 2020, gives an amazing performance of some of the composer’s international melodies, while the pianist and composer “Chloe Flower” adds a romantic and lyrical character after re-performing the “Piano Concerto No.” 5 by Beethoven.
The new album is part of the production of “Deezer Originals” after the release of the joint musical report “The Revival of Classical Music” in cooperation with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which revealed that users between the ages of 18 to 25 years make up about 34% of the listeners of classical music worldwide. It is an audience that is growing exponentially during the Corona pandemic.
“Classical music attracted listeners of all ages during this difficult time, and our new album aims to bring together all kinds of classical music fans by mixing contemporary rhythms with traditional sounds,” said Deezer Classical Music Editor Yannick Vij.
“This is the first time that artists from this neoclassical scene have recreated pieces by an icon like Ludwig van Beethoven, and I hope our unique style in this amazing composer will help fans celebrate his 250th birthday,” he added.
According to the statement, the album contains about 24 new and innovative masterpieces and is available exclusively on the Beethoven channel within the Deezer app, for a period of a month.
