WHAT CITY IS JUVENTUS
The Vecchia Signora is from Turin (Torino, in Italian, and Turin, in Piedmont), capital and most populous city of Piedmont , which is one of the twenty regions that make up the Republic of Italy. La Juve was founded on November 1, 1897 by a group of students from the Liceo classico Massimo d’Azeglio, one of the most prestigious educational centers in the city. Important cultural and business center of northern Italy, Turin is located on the left bank of the Po river and is surrounded by the beautiful Alps.
WHAT IS THE JUVENTUS STADIUM
Juve has played since September 2011 at Juventus Stadium, Allianz Stadium for sponsorship reasons. The Italian institution formalized an agreement with said insurance company for the transfer of the rights to the name of its stadium until 2023. Previously, the Bianconeri had played in other venues such as: Comunale, Delle Alpi and in the Olympic in Turin. Details are given. Important that Juventus Stadium was the first owned stadium for an Italian club. It is also a stadium of its own, not shared with Torino -the other great team in the city-, as it was in the past.
On September 8, 2011, it was the official premiere, in a friendly match against Notts County, the English club of the city of Nottingham, from which the Turin squad adopted its characteristic black and white colors from 1903. The opening goal was the work of Italian forward Luca Toni. The first official match was held on September 11, 2011 with a Juventus – Parma where Lichtsteiner scored the first goal.
The stadium has a capacity for 41,000 spectators and the construction cost 122 million euros. It was built on the same land that Delle Alpi formerly occupied, built for the 1990 World Cup and with capacity for more than 70,000 spectators who rarely occupied it. In that stadium the stands were far from the field of play due to a running track, which complicated visibility from the lower rings.
