A Corona patient infected at least five other partygoers on June 21 at Zurich’s Flamingo Club. Switzerland had its first superspreader case (BLICK reported). This now has consequences for the flamingo: “Our club will be closed this weekend until Monday night,” says club operator Vito Macchia to BLICK. Zurich health director Natalie Rickli does not want to comment on this, but refers to a press conference later this Wednesday (Blick TV reports live).
Super provisional order
The authorities can change their minds until Thursday, when the next event in the Flamingo would take place, but that seems unlikely. BLICK has a super provisional order against the flamingo, in which the health authority clearly states: “Defects make it impossible for the health authorities to contact the club visitors reliably, quickly and safely in the event of a Covid disease.”
The canton demands that the flamingo “can guarantee seamless contact with all club visitors and employees within a very short time”.
No suspensive effect
Macchia submitted a new protection concept to the canton on Tuesday, as he says to BLICK. What the canton thinks of this will show in the next few days. Macchia would not help a recourse, by the way. The canton writes in the ruling that the closure is effective when the ruling is issued and that an appeal does not have a suspensive effect. (vof)
