Homicide with hammer
A man (22) is charged with murder by the Lucerne public prosecutor’s office. He had hurt his roommate’s head with a hammer.
The public prosecutor’s office in Lucerne has closed the investigation against a Swiss (22): the public prosecutor’s office accuses in October 2018 of fatally injuring a man with a hammer in a pension in the city of Lucerne. He then fled and was arrested in the city a day later. The victim died in the hospital in December 2018.
The public prosecutor had the suspect prepare a forensic-psychiatric report: “This states that the man had a serious mental disorder at the time of the crime. Nevertheless, in the opinion of the expert, he was fully culpable », – said the prosecutor’s announcement.
The charges have now been referred to the criminal court. «She judges the act to be particularly unscrupulous and has charged the man with murder. She demands a prison sentence of 20 years, »it continues. This should be postponed in favor of an inpatient measure.
The presumption of innocence applies until a decision by the criminal court. A trial date is not yet known.
