What brands do SweClocker’s readers know?

In mid-February, we conducted a survey where we asked which brands you associate with different product types. Now that the results have been summed up, we think that you who have participated should be curious about the results, which is why we share them.

It is important to keep in mind that the list shows which brands our readers are familiar with and thus associated with a product type. It is thus by no means a list of which brands are best, only which are best known among SweClocker’s visitors.

The question asked was “which three manufacturers do you associate with the product segment?” – the results divided into product groups can be found below.

Laptops

Among laptops, it was very close to the top where Asus and Lenovo pinch a shared first place. With a smaller share, we find the classic brands HP and Dell who get the honor to share in second place and last but not least, we find Apple. An example of a large manufacturer that was not even placed on the list is Acer.

Desktop computers

In terms of desktops, the match was much less even and HP was the most famous brand followed by Dell shortly thereafter. At a reasonable distance, Asus and Lenovo share third place. A very interesting aspect was local manufacturers of computers where Webhallen Config, Komplett PC and Inet Taurus were mentioned as many times in the survey.

Screens

When we came to which screen manufacturers you know, there was a much larger spread. Asus brings home the big win with almost twice as many mentions as Samsung.

Graphics card

As expected, graphics card brands saw the top three major brands, about half as many listed Gigabyte as Asus, while MSI was in the middle. KFA2 received the lowest number of votes, which was only mentioned by two people.

Motherboard

History repeats itself when it comes to motherboards, but this time all three companies receive very similar numbers of mentions. In a distant fourth place we find Asrock and in fifth place there are so few mentions that we can not appoint anyone.

Chassis

Locally produced tastes best if the chassis connoisseurs are asked. Fractal Design takes home a grand slam with more than twice as many mentions as Corsair, which ends up in second place.

Cooling

In refrigeration, it is once again a major victory for a brand – this time Austrian Noctua.

Power supply

Corsair is at the top when it comes to which power supply manufacturers our readers know. Seasonic, on the other hand, is unexpectedly close in second place, while the distance to third place is relatively large.

Routers

The spread between the placements is again large when we look at router brands. The second place has twice as many mentions as the third place, and the first place in turn has twice up to the second place.

Storage

In the survey’s perhaps most expected results, we see Samsung, WD and Seagate in the top current brands with a focus on storage.

Keyboard

For the first time since the initial product groups, we find a shared place, this time the third place shared by Ducky and Razer.

Mice

Nordic brands are represented on the list again when we look at mice as Steelseries pinches third place. Logitech, on the other hand, is rowing home another comfortable first place.

Mobile phones

In a product group whose results felt even more given than those in storage, we find Samsung and Apple at the top. Oneplus is at a reasonable distance and the fourth place ends up far behind.

Smart Home

Smart Homes was the category that perhaps not entirely unexpectedly had the least number of mentions overall. While over 99 percent indicated a motherboard brand, only about 40 percent of the participants indicated a brand in smart homes. Less unexpected was that Philips with their Hue scooped the site as the most famous brand.

VR

VR had two clear dragons at the top and the Half Life creators Valve ended up in third place. In fourth place we found HP and after that we are down to a few mentions per manufacturer such as Pimax.

TV

In the last product category TV, the result is expected. Samsung and LG share first place and are then followed by Sony, which brings home half as many mentions.

In addition, we would like to remind you once again that the results presented do not place any value on the reputation of each brand – but only which brands SweClocker’s readers associate with selected product groups.
