The Deputy Regional Director of the Gendarmerie, Colonel Luciano Chávez, noted that “Respect for the protocols implemented due to the pandemic made it possible to discover two cases of Covid-19 within the San Antonio penal unit.”
Added that “From that moment, an active search for cases has been maintained, which has led us today to have ordered the crabtenant of the entire CCP. In a week we have managed to apply more than a hundred exams to the inmates of the penitentiary establishment ”.
Colonel Chávez stated that the inmates affected are “in good health and isolated from the rest of the population”. While the official has no symptoms and is quarantining at his home.
