EsSalud healthcare staff will receive an extraordinary bonus in March

Andean. The Executive Power ordered a series of extraordinary measures in economic and financial matters, to strengthen the response capacity of the human resources of the Social Health Security (EsSalud) in the fight against coronavirus.

In accordance with the Emergency Decree No. 022-2021, published in the Extraordinary Edition of the Legal Norms Bulletin, EsSalud is exceptionally authorized to grant an extraordinary bonus in March of this year for the effective work of the healthcare personnel who provide direct care to confirmed and / or suspected patients with the covid-19.

This bonus is not remunerative, compensatory, or pensionable and is not subject to social charges. In addition, it will be financed from the institutional budget of EsSalud up to 77 million 604,213 soles.

In the same way, a transfer of items in the Public Sector Budget for Fiscal Year 2021 was authorized, up to 118 million 882,069 soles in favor of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) to later be transferred in favor of EsSalud, for the purpose of financing during February and March of this year the compensation to personnel under the regime of Legislative Decree No. 1057, which regulates the Special Regime for Administrative Contracting of Services.

Likewise, the norm authorizes EsSalud to finance and pay this year the extraordinary non-remunerative bonus for effective work to healthcare personnel who provided direct care to patients confirmed and / or suspected of being infected with the coronavirus.

This bond is financed from the institutional budget of EsSalud, up to 51 million 736,142 soles.

The objective of these measures is to maintain the supply of health services, implementing actions to strengthen their response capacity in the face of the pandemic, given the increase in confirmed cases due to the outbreak or second wave and the variant or new strain in the country.
