Barrier actions have slowed down the flu epidemic

#Thanks to the adoption of barrier gestures to counter the spread of the coronavirus, other diseases have been neutralized this season. #This is the case with the flu, which did not cause any entry into intensive care.

The #French public health agency has published its weekly report on the evolution of influenza in #France. #According to this company, the flu epidemic has still not started in the country.

#This phenomenon is due to the adoption of barrier gestures by the #French, in order to limit the spread of #Covid-19.

#No entry into intensive care

#In 2019, 61 people went to hospital because they had the flu. #This year, since #October, no patient with the disease has been admitted to intensive care.

“The impact of influenza still seems to be significantly reduced compared to previous years thanks to the adoption of barrier gestures”, says the #French public health agency.

#If they were introduced to fight against #Covid-19, barrier gestures are also useful in order to counter other seasonal diseases. #In fact, wearing a mask, social distancing and hand washing are effective in not spreading germs between patients.

“#In the current context, physical distancing and barrier gestures are essential to limit the spread of the #Covid-19 epidemic and other viruses”, said the health agency.

#Thus, gastroenteritis and bronchiolitis are less numerous this year thanks to these new health rules.
