Samsung announces the arrival of HDR10 + Adaptive

A technology that will allow the #Korean manufacturer’s next televisions to automatically adapt to the ambient light in a room.

#Samsung credits

#We can no longer count the progress made by the tech industry in recent years. A few days before CES 2021, which will be held entirely online between #January 11 and 14, #Samsung continued the announcements, by formalizing the #Support for #Adaptive HDR10 + technology on his next smart TV.

A year after the announcement of the #Dolby #Vision IQ, widely praised by the press at the time, #Samsung therefore seems to be taking a similar direction, by offering its own improved version of HDR10 technology. #Concretely, the #South #Korean brand should allow its next QLED models – including the new 4K range announced for 2021, use the TV’s brightness sensor to restore the correct brightness of a scene according to the ambient light of one piece. #Obviously, we will have to wait to see the technology in action to really get an idea of its effectiveness in terms of immersion. #In the meantime, this announcement, which should be made in more detail during CES 2021, is nonetheless particularly interesting.

#Less popular than the latest #Dolby #Vision standard, already compatible with #Disney + and #Netflix, the HDR10 + offers itself the #Amazon #Prime #Video support. #Let’s just hope that some #Samsung TVs already on the market will also benefit from retroactive #Adaptive HDR10 + compatibility, via an upcoming software update.

#An unprecedented CES 2021

#Launched on #January 11, CES 2020 will take place entirely online this year. #An #All digital edition marked by the global #Coronavirus pandemic, but which should nevertheless reserve some nice surprises. #Alongside #Samsung, giant LG also announced the arrival of its own QNED 8K #Mini LED panels.
