Agadir: the former headquarters of BAM could turn into a museum


The former headquarters of #Bank #Al-Maghrib (BAM) could be turned into a city memory museum. #To this end, a development study was presented #Tuesday at a meeting chaired by the #Wali of the region of #Souss-Massa, governor of the prefecture of #Agadir-Ida #Outanane, #Ahmed #Hajji, and in the presence of the president of the #Souss-Massa region, #Brahim #Hafidi, elected officials and lovers of art and culture.

#During this meeting, the participants reviewed the different aspects of the scenographic study relating to the project which is part of the urban development program of #Agadir (2020-2024) launched by #King #Mohammed VI in #February. latest.

#This program, which should mobilize an envelope of 6 billion dirhams, aims to consecrate the positioning of the city of #Agadir and strengthen its attractiveness as a national and international tourist destination.

#It was drawn up in accordance with the royal guidelines contained in the speech for the 44th anniversary of the #Green #March, in which the #Sovereign called for the strengthening of the basic infrastructure of the #Souss-Massa region and its road network, for the establishment of ” a #Marrakech – #Agadir rail link and the consolidation of the region’s strategic position as a link between the #North and the #South of the #Kingdom.

#As a reminder, this structure, built on foundations similar to earthquake-resistant structures, withstood the earthquake of 1960, to such an extent that #Bank #Al-Maghrib will still operate there for 37 years. #In 1997, BAM moved to a larger building, located avenue #Mohammed V.
