The first screening scanner in Africa installed in Casablanca

#In partnership with #PromedStore #Imaging, UIH recently established its #African #Hub in #Casablanca by installing the first #Covid-19 screening scanner at the #De #Vinci clinic, located in the #Metropolis. #Dedicated to the fight against #Sars-CoV-2, this #Emergency #Radiology solution, called «uVision CT», a for the objective of supporting medical scientific research and contributing to its development in #Africa, by providing technical support and cutting-edge medical solutions.

#Precise, secure and rapid detection

“This first anti-Covid-19 system consists of a scanner equipped with 40 fast and precise detectors allowing very high spatial resolution. #It is indeed the thinnest in this range of systems, thanks to the technologies created by UIH ”, indicates #Doctor #Nissal #Berrached, UIH director for the region.

#He added that “#Artificial #Intelligence (AI) makes this solution an essential tool for sorting patients and separating contaminated subjects from healthy ones”. #This, being equipped with a smart camera, allows automatic and rapid testing while providing a safe environment for patients, thus supporting the accuracy of doctors’ diagnoses at an early stage of infection.

#For #Pr. #Jaâfar #Heikel, specialist in infectious diseases and public health, at the #Vinci #Clinic in #Casablanca, “in about four months, this technology has enabled us to detect more than 500 positive cases among 3000 examinations carried out”.

“#Fast and instantaneous, in addition to its effectiveness, it has the merit of being the best suited to date to guarantee the health safety of our medical teams and their protection from infections and cross-contamination,” he continued.

#In fine, the specialist in infectious diseases explained that “thanks to the automatic calculation of the percentages of attack by segments and pulmonary lobes, this technology is an added value not only diagnostic but also prognostic”.
