According to Deadline, Ben Affleck got his hands on his new directing project thanks to Keeper of the Lost Cities. He will put in the box for Disney the film adaptation of the eponymous novels (Guardians of the Lost Cities in French) from Shannon Messenger.
Affleck will also produce the project through its banner, Pearl Street, and will also sign the screenplay with Kate Gritmon. Madison Ainley, Affleck’s dj sidekick on Live by Night and others Justice League, will be delegated producer.
In the novel Guardians of the Lost Cities, Sophie, a 12 year old girl and patient needs to figure out why she is the key to her whole new world before the wrong person finds the answer first.
