Le Matin – Covid-19: Moroccans called on to respect barrier gestures during the vaccination campaign

The #Minister of #Health, #Khalid #Ait #Taleb, on #Thursday in #Rabat called on #Moroccans to scrupulously respect barrier gestures during the vaccination campaign against #Covid-19, scheduled “in the coming days”.

“We call on #Moroccans to rigorously respect gestures and barrier measures, during the vaccination period which will be launched in the coming days,” said #Mr. #Ait #Taleb during a press briefing, recalling that group immunity does not could only be achieved if more than 60% of the population is vaccinated.

#To this end, the #Minister indicates that there is a gap period between the two injections of the vaccine against #Covid-19, for which the #Kingdom has opted, stressing that the vaccination campaign could be impacted, if positive cases of #Covid-19 are recorded during this gap period.

“We are counting on a national mobilization and the responsibility of everyone to join this large-scale national campaign,” said the government official.

#On another aspect and following certain information reported by international media, about the recognition, certification and authorization of use of #Sinopharm and #AstraZeneca vaccines by the governments of their countries of origin, #Mr. #Ait #Taleb affirmed that #Morocco met its committee of experts, in order to look at the clinical and scientific data to validate and authorize this vaccine, in accordance with the recommendations of the WHO.

#It should be recalled that #Morocco has acquired 65 million doses of the two vaccines (#Sinopharm and #AstraZeneca) for which the #Kingdom has opted, announced #Mr. #Ait #Taleb before the #Council of #Government meeting on #December 24, specifying that the target population s ‘rises to 25 million people.

#Preparations for the launch of the national vaccination campaign have reached a “very advanced” stage, the #Minister of #Health said at the same time.
