Less than three hours after being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, forward Max Domi allowed himself to criticize the Montreal Canadiens’ organization.

In an interview with sports site The Athletic, the center player said there was a lack of communication at the Habs.

“It was such a weird situation. I would be lying to you if I told you that I knew what was going on. There was no real communication [à Montréal], said Domi. I was trying to figure out what was going on. I was not told why, or what to do to be placed higher in the line-up […] I am not the coach. I was placed in certain situations and I was not able to help the team as I would have liked to do. ”

“It’s an experience that makes me learn. I take this and I grow. The worst is behind me now, ”he added.

Domi was traded for right winger Josh Anderson, a player he played with for a few years with the London Knights.

“It’s a bit strange to have been traded for one of my best friends,” said the left-hander.

Domi wasted no time, having already been in contact with several of his new Jackets teammates.

“I spoke with Nick Foligno and several other guys as well. They are excited and I am [aussi] to be part of this group. “

The one who was acquired against Alex Galchenyuk in June 2018 has also spoken with general manager Jarmo Kekalainen, but not yet with who will decide his usage time in Columbus.

“What’s most important about this is that I’m super excited to go to a place where I want to be. I spoke with Jarmo. I haven’t had the chance to talk to [l’entraîneur-chef John Tortorella] again, but I can’t wait for that phone call. ”
