Saint-Charles-Garnier College partially closed due to COVID-19

Fifteen cases of COVID-19 led to the closure of all classes of 3eof 4e and 5e secondary school at Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier until October 5.

The management of this private high school in Quebec City informed the parents at the end of the day on Monday.

“As a preventive measure, and given that the vast majority of classes confined to the house for a few days will return to face-to-face mode on October 5, we believe it preferable to close all classes from the 2nde cycle (3e, 4e and 5e secondary) until that date. In the last few days, several students have received a negative test result, but many are still awaiting their result and must be absent ”, we can read in an email obtained by The newspaper.

The director general of the college, Marc-André Séguin, however specifies that the transmission comes from outside the establishment, according to his latest discussions with Public Health.

“So there would be no community transmission inside the walls,” he said.

Ten groups of students will receive distance education until Friday.

The Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier welcomes around 500 students.
