Here are the 15 countries to which the European Union should reopen its borders on July 1


The European Union should reopen its borders on July 1 to 14 countries as well as to China, the latter on condition of reciprocity, recommended Tuesday the member states, excluding in particular the United States.

After several days of discussions, the Council adopted a recommendation on the gradual lifting of temporary restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU, which had been introduced to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

As of July 1, member states are expected to begin lifting travel restrictions at the external borders for residents of Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand. Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay and China, the latter subject to confirmation of reciprocity.
