The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, took advantage of his speech at a summit of world leaders organized by the European Union in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, to call on rich countries to allocate resources to nations ” less privileged “to combat the virus.
The president reiterated that no country was prepared to face an emergency such as the coronavirus, however he maintained that this situation should serve to “be close to those who need it most.”
“It is very important that rich countries help less privileged countries with resources to combat the pandemic and thus reduce the impact on the most vulnerable population. No country was prepared for a challenge as great as this, humanity was not prepared for a challenge like this, but together we can win the battle against this virus, “he said.
