Melbourne coronavirus outbreak remains at eight cases, with no additions overnight

#No new coronavirus cases have emerged overnight in #Victoria, giving hope that authorities have contained an outbreak linked to #New #South #Wales.

#Department of #Health and #Human #Services (DHHS) testing commander #Jeroen #Weimar said the number of cases linked to the cluster stood at eight.

#About 200 people have been identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases, and have been told to self-isolate.

#Mr #Weimar said the signs were “positive” that transmission of the virus was being stopped.

DHHS updated its list of exposure sites overnight to include the #Woodlands #Golf #Club in #Mordialloc, and #Village #Century #City cinema at #Glen #Waverley.

#Anyone who visited one of the exposure sites below must get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days from the exposure date.

#Anyone who visited those sites at the time indicated should get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result, or monitor for symptoms.

#Coronavirus fragments picked up in wastewater testing in #Gippsland

DHHS is urging anyone in the #Lakes #Entrance area with coronavirus symptoms to get tested, after COVID fragments were detected in wastewater testing.

There will be an increase in wastewater testing in the area as a result of the discovery.

A drive-through COVID testing site is open at #Bairnsdale #Regional #Health #Services.
