The #Covid-19 pandemic is not an obstacle for those who want to have fun with friends and it is the #Vybe #Together application that has until recently made it possible to organize clandestine parties. #However, #Apple withdrew this application after it was revealed that it worked, causing a scandal.

#Apple has removed the #Vybe #Together application from its #App #Store, allowing it to organize underground parties in the midst of the #Covid-19 pandemic.

The developers had also launched a website and a since-deleted #TikTok account to promote the platform. #Anyone who wanted to attend a party only had to be approved by the organizers who then sent them the address of the parties, which had become illegal in the face of lockdowns and curfews around the world, says The #Verge.

#Asked by The #Verge, a certain “#Albin”, co-founder of the app, said that #Vybe #Together “had a few thousand users” and that “several thousand more applicants had requested access since the company had started posting videos on #TikTok. ”

#Although #Vybe #Together has acted relatively quietly, its activity was exposed by a reporter for the #New #York #Times, who even called the developers of the app “horrible people.”

The application defends itself

A spokesperson denied to The #Verge that the app is intended to promote unsafe behavior, adding that the purpose of the app is “to help people organize small meetings in parks or apartments during the day. #Covid. ”

“We have never had a big party and we made an overblown marketing video that left the wrong impression on our intentions, which has since been deleted. #We do not tolerate big dangerous evenings during a pandemic, ”he explains.
