AstraZeneca vaccine should be authorized in Morocco at the start of the week

The AMM (marketing authorization) commission met well today, #Media24 learns from informed sources. #She studied the #AstraZeneca vaccine dossier. #This manufacturer is to date the only one to have submitted its authorization request.

The file was accepted and the members of the commission will work on it despite the weekend and the public holiday, according to our sources. #Authorization is expected for #Monday or #Tuesday.

#Sinopharm #Wuhan’s authorization request and the accompanying file should be received in #Morocco on #Friday or #Saturday #January 1/2, 2021.

#Will this file be processed immediately after the first one? #Or will he wait for authorization from the #Chinese authorities? #We do not have a definitive answer but rather two hypotheses:

– either the treatment will be done quickly considering that by approving the #Sinopharm #Beijing vaccine, the #Chinese regulator has in fact validated the two #Sinopharm vaccines. #And in that case, the vaccine will be approved by #Morocco within the next week.

– #Or #Morocco will prefer to wait for approval by the #Chinese regulator of the #Sinopharm #Wuhan vaccine, the one it ordered at 40 million doses, before initiating the authorization procedure itself.

#Ok so for the #AstraZeneca vaccine and pending procedure for the #Sinopharm #Wuhan vaccine.

#After approving the vaccine (s), #Morocco will have to negotiate the delivery schedule and set up the logistics. #It goes without saying that from the UK delivery will be faster.
